In Rome, Italy and subsequently moved to the United States at an early age. He inherited his prodigious musical talent from his mother, a Swedish classical singer, and his father an Italian-Venezuelan music conductor, foreign film composer.

Thus immersed in cultural diversity throughout his life, Ingvar developed a love for music of many styles and people including Giuseppe De Stefano, Mario Lanza, Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras, Andrea Bocelli, Jerry Vale, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett,Tom Jones, Engelbert Humperdink, Julio Iglesias, Elton John, Billy Joel, Rod Stewart, Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion, Julie Andrews and Bernadette Peters.

Ingvar is also considered one of the most versatile and gifted performers able to sing in a variety of languages including Italian, Spanish and French.
