Frank Arras

Frank Arras is my name and guitar playing is the game!” I am a guitarist from Belgium (Lier) and I’m passionate by making music, and especially playing the guitar. Now a little history to fill you in on my person: I was always interested in music, but I first started playing the guitar at the age of 19. Luckily I had a little bit of talent in my veins, so soon I started my own band, called: “FrontPage”. By playing own numbers and covers, I focused on the technique behind the guitar, and I profiled myself as a solo-guitarist. In my search for challenges, I joined the cover band “Fake No More” as solo-player, and also as a guest-guitarist with other bands, I played on many stages. I met a lot of great guitarists, who became my friends, for example Wim Roelants and Lorenzo Augusti, and through their experiences, I realized that I wanted to create my own music, next tot playing covers. So I started my own project, named “Shen”, a power-rocktrio, to perform my own songs. Because some young boys and girls came to ask me how they could become great players, and because they asked me if I could give them some lessons, I couldn’t refuse to help them in their first steps in music and I started to teach them the skills of playing the guitar. So I started a project, named “GUITARBLAST”. This is a guitar school for beginners, and also advanced students. Every year there is a big concert in my hometown Lier where the students can show their developed skills. A few “top-ace” guitarists join the concert and give a guest-performance. During the year these specialists also do some workshops for my project. I started the project in 2004 – 01 - 01 with about 10 to 15 students, but at the moment I have about 80 students, and the number is still increasing. For this reason I had to create some facilities to keep it all under control and to see my family once in a while. Therefore I would like to say thanks to my sponsors, and Eric Vandormale, for supporting me in my project. For anyone who would like to know more about my project, or to contact me as a friend, contact my website: www.guitarblast.be Keep playing the guitar, and many greetings. From: Frank
